The Communities of Pelican Landing:

One of the funniest movies ever was a little film titled CaddyShack.  A favorite line in the film is when Rodney Dangerfield's character almost collides his boat with Ted Knights characters boat.  Dangerfield then drops his anchor right through the deck and hull of Knights boat.  Dangerfield then says, "Hey, you scratched my anchor!" 

This has absolutely nothing to do with anything.  I just think it's funny.  But now that we're on the subject of anchors, let's talk anchor text.

If you're new to blogging or Active Rain and you're not sure what Anchor Text is:

• The anchor text or link label is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink.
• Anchor text is the text a user clicks when clicking a link on a web page.

If you've been using your anchor text to help drive traffic to your website, do you check to make sure you're getting the results you are shootin' for?

It's fairly simple.  Say, for example, I write blogs about Bonita Springs Florida Real Estate and use this as Anchor Text which linked to my website www.BonitaSpringsAgent.com . 

To check how highly my site ranks for anchor text that has the terms "Bonita Springs Florida Real Estate" go to Google and type in:

Give it a shot with your website and the "Anchor Text" you've been using.  It will let you know what you might want to beef up on!

Another tip:  If you're not in the top 10 (first page) on google you can change your search preferences on google to show 100 results at a time.  It's simple.  On the google search page click the word "preferences" which is in small print right beside the search bar.  Change the "Number of Results" from 10 to 100.  Click Save!  It's that simple.

What sort of a dork carries a camera with them at all times? 

Don't answer that, you probably have one with you most of the time, too.  What did we do before digital cameras?

A random Friday in May and I'm on another Quest for Pin in Bonita Springs Florida. 

First, I was on my way to Miromar Outletto get the best pizza in town (Luna Pizza).  I stopped at a red light and then suddenly, massive traffic backup.  Why?  Four of these massive beams exiting the interstate and making a u-turn to deliver the over pass beams for the Alico Road exchange that is being put in on I-75. 

This was a phenomenal sight!  These beams are so huge.  I had always assumed the bridges were poured concrete in place.  I guess I was wrong. 

The drivers of these trucks must have nerves of steel.  I can't imagine having the responsibility of maneuvering this much weight down the highway and making these turns to head back up the highway.  

I took the opportunity and I stood on the car and snapped these pict's.

Who made the decision to move these beams during rush hour on Friday night of a holiday weekend?  There was a graduation at Germain Arena that was likely delayed because these beams had traffic snagged for quite some time.
