The Great American Mortgage Workout?

Honey, I think we're screwed. If you have a minute or two and can share anything about mortgage work outs or loan modifications, I would appreciate it.

Do you know a living, breathing person that negotiated a successful mortgage workout?

I invite you to write a post about a mortgage work out and earn 200 points....  Tips, how to's, what to watch out for's, etc.

Feel free to write an entire post, put the link in the comments of this post or just share the details about a mortgage workout that you know about/assisted with in the comments. What ever is easiest for you.  I would like to collect your knowledge and experience for a future story in the Naples Daily News.

This is a consumer post, posted to localism.com .  It is mean to collect data for home owners and consumers that are searching for information about mortage work out programs.

Bonita Springs - First Dates R Us

It's all down hill from here, isn't it?

More Things to Do in Bonita Springs

Someone found this Bonita Springs real estate blog looking for "things to do First Date Bonita Springs, Fl". I don't think I've ever really written specifically about dating. I think I did do a Valentine day post once. It got me thinking that maybe I should write about things to do for a first date in Bonita Springs. I then realized that I am a spinster and I don't date so my advice could be totally useless.

Instead, I'll take a stab at a few fun things to do in Bonita Springs. If you happen to try them on a date, you're on your own if it all goes south. Sorry, but this isn't the Love Connection.

  1. Hit the Collier County water park. OK, it's not in Bonita Springs but in the summer it's only about 20ish minutes away. No, I don't go to the water park because there isn't a soul who will see my casper white flesh. Read also: Water Park Info.
  2. Just go eat somewhere like regular boring people. If your favorite restaurant isn't still in Business just ask someone who is a local where the best place to eat at. Better yet, ask where the best two or three places is and just have an appetizer at each restaurant instead of dinner. Appetizer hopping in Bonita.
  3. Buy inexpensive kites and fly them at Barefoot Beach Preserve at the south end of Barefoot Beach. If you don't want to fly them just give them to kids and watch. It's hilarious. Read also: Bonita Beach & Barefoot Beach | Bonita Springs, Florida.
  4. There are a few physical challenges you can try. First, there's a miniature golf course on Bonita Beach Road west of 41. If you're so good at putting maybe you should swap putting hands and make it interesting. There is also a Disc (Frisbee) golf course at the Bonita Springs recreation center. You're suppose to use special discs, not the real Frisbees. I guess you might want to ask someone or google the proper way to play. Better yet, invent your own rules.
  5. Rent a canoe at Carl Johnson Boat Ramp located just north of Bonita Springs at Lover's Key. Depending on what time of the year, you might want to take a can of Off!

Now get out there and find your future ex-husband or ex-wife! Just a joke. These are all great things to do in sunny Bonita Springs, Fl whether you're on a date, have company in town or you're just looking for something new to do with your kids.

Maybe Comcast Does Care - Thank You Twitter!

JiminyThis is an excerpt of an email I sent to comcast last night.  An email that followed some twitter tweets. I was not able to get my email issues resolved with "real life" people in bricks and mortar Comcast locations so I went all high tech.  Missy Caulk told me to twitter @ComcastCares my problems.  I tweeted and they gave me an email address. I sent them this email:

Here is what happened: I had two homes within 5 miles for the last couple years. One was being remodeled and the other I lived in.

House 1. 23089 XXX Blvd, Estero, Fl 33928 (high speed only)

House 2. 9156 XXX  Ct. Bonita Springs, FL 34135 (high speed and cable TV)

We sold house 1 and had Comcast high speed turned off 2 weeks ago. We didn’t realize our emails were established on that House 1 account. A day later, I realized, called Comcast and they said they could transfer them, could take 5 days or so. They actually transferred my @comcast.net account but deleted the others. They were @AlGorithms business accounts and my daughter and sons email.

I woke up this morning and it was fixed over night.  I had wasted hours of my life on hold, with repeated attempts to fix the problem to no avail.

Today, all is well in Comcast Land.  I just can't believe that I fixed this through Twitter.  Truely amazing

Happy Father's Day

I was so adopted

This is Sonny.

His real name was Charles but people called him Sonny. Like Sonny Bono that guy that was married to Cher. I tried to find a picture of my father and me and this is all I came up with. He died fairly young and I don't have a lot of memories of him. What's strange is I dug into an old photo album, pried this photo off of "definitely not acid free paper" and found that it read "Daddy's Girl" on the back. I just do not remember being a Daddy's girl, that's for sure.  It was like looking at someone else's family album at that point.

So this is my photo documentary of me with my Father. I'm still certain I was adopted. Reference: Another MeMe - Have at it You Jackals Me on a tractor is further supporting evidence, for the record. I certainly don't look as thought I'm enjoying the situation.  How Eva Gabor of me.

So, many other men have stepped up to the plate to fill in when my Father was gone. If you're a person with a Father that didn't participate or couldn't participate you'll understand right away. If you aren't either you should know that many people step in and act as Father's even when they don't have to. I've been lucky to be blessed with many stand ins in my life.

Al Gorithm has taken the role of Father for my own twins when he didn't have to. Their own Father was busy doing more important things. Al has suffered through cheerleading competitions, put curlers in little girl's hair, built dioramas and even taught LumberJack how to shave. That boy has had a beard since 5th grade, so this was no easy feat. The twins were also lucky enough to have the guidance of a few other stand in Father's, slash friends: Al G., Harry F., Ron C., Carey B., Vito P., Broker Bruce. The last three guys on that list call LumberJack every Thursday for lunch. Who does that? People from K-Dub, that's who.  They even drag Mini Me along once in a while just to keep her quiet. It truly takes a village.

So I thank all of the Father's out there whether they're biological or not. You're probably more important than you know.

Happy Father's Day Al Gorithm

Happy Flag Day

Bonita Beach Ducks

Barefoot Beach ducks are just a little antisocial at first. They were playing in standing water until the crazy urban bush woman of Bonita Springs started infringing upon their personal space. I slowly squatted down and waited. The mommy was giving me the stink eye but eventutally it dawned on her that the wide angle camera differentiated me from the usual duck hunter. That and I also wasn't wearing camo or orange. She realized that I was merely a nuisance and not dangerous.

Network News is Dead

I drew this myselfWhy do bloggers and Active Rainer’s biotch about no good news being reported? It ticks me off that any blogger that doesn’t realize that they ARE the news isn’t getting it.  Brinkley is dead so quit waiting for old school news to bail you out.

Get it. If you don’t like the news that is being reported than write the news that needs to be said, read and reported. It’s that simple. If you don’t like what is being reported about real estate in your neighborhood than write what needs to be heard by the public. You’ve been given the greatest opportunity to control your news and present facts to the public, all the while becoming an authority, and most people are not taking advantage of it.

If network news is so wrong and real estate is moving in your city or community then write about it and write about how wrong they are and why they’re wrong. Back it up with statistics.

You are the news, why aren’t you reporting it?

What do you need to write about today?  Do it now!

A Micro Rant About Cable TV & High Speed

Bonita Beach Beach Access

Warning, this is not at all real estate related or even related to Bonita Springs, for that matter.

There is nothing more frustrating in life than being held at the mercy of big business, operated by computers, outsourced to Bangalore, press 2 for Spanish - hold the line for English, utility companies. For probably the third time in the last year I tried to fix or improve part of my service on the Comcast network. It's exhausting to say the least. I don't have to tell you if you've tried to have your communication services changed what a nightmare it is. It doesn't matter who the company is or what utility it is, it's just a mad circle of insanity.

My wresting match with Comcast started about 12 years ago. They insisted that I pay cable expenses even though I lived in a condominium on Fort Myers Beach. Most of the time cable is included in the maintenance fees. It was included in my condo fees, too but Comcast threw a big stink so I just paid my $38 bucks (yeah, that's a bargain compared to todays rates) to keep my cable. I'll let you know that many years later, after I moved back to Bonita Springs, a check comes in the mail from Comcast for several hundred dollars of refund for their services. Someone locked in a cage at Comcast forced to balance books must have found the error.

Bonita Springs Crappiest Job Ever - Oh Carnac

Oh, Crap

Let someone else pick up after your pet.  This little card came to my office. The other side of it reads Eliminating the ugly yellow spots, disgusting brown mounds, gross smells and obvious health risks for over 50,000 happy poop-free residents has made them #1 in the buisness of #2.  LOL

Active Rain members; If there was a more fun way to talk about poo and get in a Carnac post, let me know!

Opinion Poll: What is a Blogger?

Help me out with basic question, because I have apparently missed something, somewhere along the line. More than a few of the "commenters" on a column I write in the local paper keep referring to themselves as bloggers. My opinion is that they are COMMENTING on the online version of the paper. That does not make them a blogger, it makes them a commenter. If they were bloggers I thought that they would be WRITING the story that people are commenting on.

Your opinion and contribution to the poll is appreciated:
