The Niftiest Carrabba's Restaurant - Bonita Springs, Florida

Carabbas Bonita SpringsRight on US 41 Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs, Florida is the Carrabba's Restaurant.  It's just across the street from Bonita Bay.

You can pass it easily.  It's totally covered with plants and trees.  When they were building it about 4 or 5 years ago I never thought they'd be able to keep them alive.  Hey, it's hot here in the summer and it is on a roof, right?  Well, today I was returning from a closing and looked at how pretty all the plants looked and went back for a picture.

Unfortunately, I almost never take advantage of dining at the Carrabba's restaurant.  I live only two blocks away and drive by all the time.  I'll have to make a point to go in.  If you're looking for Carrabba's, it's just north of the Imperial River Boat Ramp at the Imperial River Bridge.

In the same plaza as Carrabba's you'll also find Outback Steakhouse and IHOP - International House of Pancakes.  All of the dining establishments are just steps from the Fresh Market.

Your suggestion of your favorite Carrabba's dish is welcome, I'll use your suggestions to stop in and try it!

I prefer the more authentic Italian food, but I really dig the Scampii Damian.

Is this a chain?  Never heard of it.  Looks REALLY cool though!

Chain, yet.  Italian, yes.  (I do, too, Sardi)  Maybe they'll throw me a gift certificate and try to convert me.  Hey, I just write the news I don't eat it.  :)

I love Carrabbas... this one looks like ours minus the palm tree on the left.  The same company that owns Outbacks own Carrabba.  The kids get to play with dough...and then the waitress will cook it if you want.

I love Carrabbas! But I never make it to eat there either. And those plants are really cool! I wonder how they keep them healthy in such shallow dirt.

Chris --  Are they going green to save energy?  Do they have a lot of plants on the very top of the roof?

Chris - I love Carrabba's. This particular one looks real inviting. I also wondered how they keep their trees ans shrubs alive on the roof.
