Follow up post to: Susan G. Komen - Race for the Cure® - Coconut Point Mall, Bonita Springs, Florida

Well, it's over. The fat lady sang, so to speak, and the old lady's limpin'. I ended up running the race without the rest of the Keller Williams Running and Limping Club!
This was the inaugural race for the Susan B. Komen foundation in SW Florida at Coconut Point Mall. The turnout was huge. Mammoth. I couldn't find the rest of the runners and limpers that I knew. I ended up running until I caught one of them with about 1K to go.
The race is organized by the Fort Myers Track Club. They do a great job. I took a look at some of the times for previous races. There was a 76 year old man that ran a 5K under 23 minutes! Holy mole! I have some work to do. I am a little disappointed. I was shooting to be under 28 minutes. I ended up finishing in about 28:30 ish. It was chip timed so I don't know what my official time is, yet. Next time! I'm all over it! .... starting tomorrow, maybe Tuesday even.

Nice work.... Don't get to much faster or I won't be able to keep up with you...
May have been the cold air that slowed you down, think my best time was on one of the hottest race days.
Wow, you've already run a 5K this morning and I've only just finished breakfast! 28:30 is still quite respectable, but I'm sure that it won't be long until we're reading your sub-28 post. Good luck, and thanks for running for a great cause!
Chris ~ good for you! 28:30 sounds rather respectable to me. The Kommen Race is such a good cause. We have a huge one here in Denver every year. The excitment is contagious.

I think a real feat would be to run a 5K in anything under 45 minutes at Denver's altitude. I can't even push a cart through a grocery store without near collapse.
Chris...Congrats on finishing the race! I bet you're excited!
How's the hobbler today? Hope you don't find running to be a boring chore, personally I feel it's a great time to think and work out problems. Usually after a run I am full of ideas.
BTW...... Noticed you are just a few comments away from 100k...... CONGRATULATIONS!
